Mohs Surgery

surgery_tray

Mohs surgery is microscopically controlled surgery used to treat common types of skin cancer. It is one of the many methods of obtaining complete margin control during removal of a skin cancer (CCPDMA – complete circumferential peripheral and deep margin assessment.) Using frozen section histology CCPDMA or Mohs surgery allows for the removal of a skin cancer with very narrow surgical margin and a high cure rate which makes it a procedure of choice by many physicians.

Certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Charles H. Hutchins MD provides state-of-the-art treatment for skin lesions. With over three decades of experience in diagnosing and treating skin cancers, moles, and skin lesions,  Dr. Hutchins has developed specialized wound closure techniques and follow-up procedures which allow for minimal scarring post-operatively. Laser Skin Care coordinates with physicians from throughout the region who have performed Mohs surgery on their patients, who are then referred to Dr. Hutchins for wound closure.
